“My GOG Album Has Been Delayed Because Of Beyoncé and Rihanna”-Shatta Wale Reveals
Award-winning Ghanaian dancehall musician, Charles Nii Armah Mensah Jnr., well known as Shatta Wale has finally opened up on why his upcoming album, GOG Album has been delayed for months and has not been released yet.
Speaking in his first granted interview after he was released from prison on Kumasi-based Pure FM with Oliver Khan aka ‘Ship Dealer’, Shatta Wale revealed that American singers, Beyoncé and Rihanna are the reason for the delay in the release of the album.
According to him, the two American singers are not done recording their versions on the album, thus the delay in releasing the much-anticipated masterpiece.
I haven’t told anyone this but the reason why my GOG album has been delayed is that Rihanna and Beyoncé are not done with their verses on some of the two songs I featured. When they’re done, hopefully, I will release the album,” Shatta Wale said.
Opening up on why he granted the interview with Oliver Khan despite making it clear that he will not be granting any interview unless the station is willing to pay him an amount of $100k, Shatta Wale stated that his personal relationship with Oliver Khan and the respect he has for him made him grant the interview.
“This is the first time I’m speaking to any media house after my release from prison and I’ve decided to not grant any radio interview for a while but I couldn’t resist not answering the call because of Oliver Khan my Boss. He is the first person who loaned me money to produce my first album”, he stated.
